Miss Ally Jo and her Mom came to visit us the other day. It's so much fun to watch our littles grow each month and to document their milestones with pictures. So much changes in just 1 month and seeing that progression in pictures in priceless.
Ally was not in the mood to take pictures at first, but once Mom got her settled down she was calm and we snapped away. These three are my favorites. Their faces are what really change so I love to capture their tiny features as they grow.
She has the longest little baby feet but they sure are adorable. She didn't want to look directly at the camera and when she did she was making faces at me and being silly :) So much personality in such a little peanut.
I'm offering milestone packages that can be customized to what months you want to do. The biggest one being newborn - 12 months. Contact me if your interested and we can make up a personalized portrait package just for you! Follow along and watch Ally & Jaye grow as I post their milestones each month here.
This smiley little girl is two months old already and continuing to grow like a weed. At her check up this month she weighed in at 12 pounds! That's alsmost two pounds more than her brother CJ, who I thought was a chunker. She got her first round of shots and of course screamed bloody murder. I think getting shots and teething are probably my two least favorite things for my babies. Both have to happen and there really isn't much you can do about it to make it easier :( But all that being said, she was much more coperative for her pictures this month.
I got a few of her adorable new smile and giggle. She is such a social baby and loves to interact with us. She even laughs at CJ when hes being goofy by her and I swear she laughs at him when he starts crying. He's doing pretty good with her and really hasn't been too jealous. He only lets his jealousy show when there are alot of people around and everyone's paying attention to Jaye. Then he starts acting up like 'will someone please pay attention to me!? I'm cute too!' :) He got very concerned at her doctors appointment and did not like that they were making her cry. He's going to be a great big brother and I can't wait to see what kind of mishchief these two get into.
From tiny little newborn to 2 months old, her cheeks only get chunkier :) :)
I'm sure ya'll have seen the picture on pinterest of the little girl sitting in her mom's wedding dress. I have it pinned and knew that I wanted to do something like that if I ever had a little girl. I still have not gotten my wedding dress preserved :S I know... naughty... so I pulled it out of the closet and we took these.....
.....I don't think that I can explain how much I love these. I know I say I love her photos every month and every month I have a new favorite BUT.... these take the cake.
I had originaly wanted her to be sleeping for these. But the older she gets the more alert she is and I don't think she liked the texture of the lace and beads so it kept waking her up. It's challenging being mommy and the photographer because I'm worried about getting the shot but I'm also trying to soothe her. The nice thing though is that I can take as much time as I want, or rather I have as much time as CJ's nap last. I really think that the end result is stunning and I managed to snap one good one of her asleep too, you can see that one and the rest of the shoot in the gallery.
I'm so excited to have these to share with her when she gets married someday.... a very long time from now :)
Hope ya'll enjoyed!
Meet Allyson Jo Thurm aka the Princess from the childhood story the Princess and the Pea. She has been giving her Mom and Dad a bit of a hard time and not wanting to sleep... ever... unless she is perfectly comfortable without a pea under her matress. So we had some fun with her newborn photos and took these whimsical princess pictures.
If your wondering, those are real peas in the apothacary jar. I had a bag of frozen peas laying around and thought they would look better than something fake. I actually had to lay them out with a fan on them to dry them off so they wouldn't fog up the jar.... the things we do for good photos ;)
She is such a little peanut with the most beautiful hair. I thought my babies had alot of hair but oh my! She lived up to her princess persona and would not let us move her head without waking up. But it all worked out. I had a really hard time picking out my favorites from this shoot.
I think this one above is my favorite but I really like the basket and chalkboard one too :) She certainly is a beautiful little thing and I loved hanging out with her and her momma for the afternoon snapping away. It was so much fun to cuddle her between shots. I can't get over how quickly they grow. I kept saying how she seems so small compared to Miss Jaye. But it was only 5 weeks ago that Jaye was that little.
True to her persona she stayed awake for the majority of the shoot showing off her beautiful blue eyes. She then proceeded to pass out once we were finished. Being a princess is definately exhausting. Can't wait to take more photos of this cute new family! Check out Ally's full gallery here
My baby girl is two months old today! Where did the time go? I know they grow up so fast but it feels like it's going so much faster this time around. Maybe because she is way easier then our son CJ. Whatever the reason, it needs to slow down. I figured I should post her 1 month pictures before I shoot her 2 month ones :) I did the belly stickers with CJ and they were fun at first... and then they start crawling and grabbing at the stickers and it feels like I just did the last month when its time to take the next. But, all that being said, I love the end result :) They also made for a super cute shutterfly book that I gave as a gift to grandparents, aunts, uncles, and godparents. So I'm excited for Miss Jaye's.
I learned a few things from doing the belly pictures with CJ and made sure to get a 'matching' newborn picture too. My Mother-in-law took the newborn picture for me, click on the image to view her site. I love how these are turning out and loving the adorable belly stickers I found on etsy. Check out the etsy shop here. Little Miss Jaye could not decided if she wanted to be awake or asleep and was a little uncoperative when we were taking these. She's getting good at throwing her head around. But of course, once we were done she was out like a light. Being a diva is exhausting ;)
Janie, my Mother-in-law, had ordered a few photo outfits to take pictures of Jaye in. Unfortunately, they didn't arrive until after she had to head back to Wisconsin. So I took pictures of Jaye in them for her, as part of our 1 month shoot.
A little background on me, I love owls and peacocks. We had peacock feathers as part of our vintage inspired wedding decorations. So everytime she sees peacocks she thinks of me :) and of course had to order this for Jaye. I think they turned out pretty cute, but I'm biased :) What do you think?
My husband Chase's favorite is this one in the pink tutu with her birth card from the hospital. Every little girl needs a pink tutu. He is totally wrapped around her finger already. The other day, out of the blue, he said to me "Baby, we really need to do some pictures of me with baby girl. Otherwise she will be mad if we don't..." He's so cute. So watch for some daddy daughter pictures coming soon :D
Then there is this picture :D Look. At. Those. Rolls! It is amazing how chunky she has gotten, just goes to show how quickly time is going. I told my husband, when we were talking about having babies, that I hoped our babies would have lots of hair and lots of little rolls. We were blessed with both with each of our children.
