My sweet girl is 4 months old this month and still just as happy and smiley as ever. Chase's favorite 'party trick' is to have her make eye contact with you and she just lights up in a huge smile. She's reached some pretty big milestones this month. The biggest being rolling over from her back to her tummy and she rolled off her tummy once. She's starting to tolerate tummy time alot more now that she's growing out of her reflux.
Reaching those milestones may not seem like a huge deal as most babies do, but it's a huge relief for us. I had shingles during the first trimester of my pregnancy with her which can cause a host of different issues during and after the pregnacy. The biggest fear was that she could have contracted chicken pox while still in the womb. Thankfully, my shingles was pretty mild all things considered, and that was not an issue we ended up facing. But she did present with some developmental delays within the first month.
We are so grateful to our awesome pediatrician who recognized it for what it was and really answered all our questions and took our concerns seriously about the possible effects my shingles could have on her. We enrolled her in the Tennessee Early Intervention Services (TEIS) and she's been having therapy here in our home once a week for a few months now and she is doing great. Sometimes I feel like it is more for our peace of mind that we are still doing it at this point. She has met her first set of goals and continues to impress her therapist.
Her sessions have been good for CJ too. The therapist is great at trying to get him to participate and feel like he's the 'helper' and that it's not all about Jaye. He's definetly been feeling a bit of jealousy lately. The day I did her belly sticker pictures when I was done and putting her sticker away he came up to me and was patting on his belly and pointing at the camera. He wanted his picture taken too :D So I tried to snap some of him but of course, in true 2 year old fashion, wanted nothing to do with it once he was in front of the camera. We are doing his 2 year pictures this weekend with Chase and I'm 'Super' excited about them! ;) ;) Also, I think this is the last shaggy hair picture of him we will have for awhile. It's waaay to hot for long hair.
We are incredibly thankful for our happy and healthy babies. I still worry from time to time that something will 'come up' and there will be some severe delay but I think that is just part of being a mom. I know for now we are in good hands and that God has a plan. You can see Jaye's full gallery here and come back soon for more of my sweet boy.
The hunt is officially over! After 5 years of dating these two are getting married and I am so excited for them. We were able to sneak in a quick engagement session while we were visiting in Wisconsin last month. I asked Brit if there were any pictures she wanted in particular and this awesomeness below is what we got :) We were going to take some with Nick's Camero as well but sadly it did not want to start :(
Nick runs a tree cutting business and these massive logs made a great back drop for their session. The location where we did their engagement session is also where Nick and Brittany first met and announced their engagement to all of their friends. If it were up to Nick, they would be having the wedding out there as well.
We battled some weather the day we did these. There was a storm coming in and it was super windy. The clouds kept coming and going causing havoc on my camera settings, Nick kept saying he broke the camera. He's not a big fan of taking pictures but he did great and Brittany loves them so that's all that matters.
I think this black and white is one of my favorites. Brittany is so beautiful and this one just shows how happy and excited she is. She is going to be a beautiful bride and I can't wait to stand beside her and be her Matron of Honor :D These two are very laid back and love to have fun. This last picture sums up their personalities and is just so simply them and I love it. Congrats Nick and Brittany! I can't wait for your big day. Check out the full gallery here.
I had the pleasure of photographing two of my very best friends during our trip home to Wisconsin a few weeks ago to meet our adorable new nephew Braxton. They were the Matron and Maid of Honor in my wedding and have been there for all of my big life events. Getting to spend a bit of time with them both while we were home for a brief weekend was awesome. Being able to not only share in the joy of their special occasions but also photograph them was an honor! First up is Mandy's rustic maternity session.
We were able to use my Husbands family farm for the setting of this awesome photo shoot, and we could not have asked for a better backdrop. This shot of her bump (baby Lucas) with the perspective through the widmill is one of my favorites. Mandy was such a tropper laying on the ground! A task that is never easy when your pregnant. She is such a sweet and beautiful person inside and out and I think our session really captured that.
My absolute favorites are the pictures of her and Marcus her 3 year old little munchkin and my crazy little Godson. He is a ball of just raw energy but one of the sweetest little boys I know. He loves to pick his mommy flowers and he's always excited when I call to talk. Watch out ladies! He's a heartmelter!
Then there's these two :) Greg is an amazing fun loving guy and takes the heat I dish out at him and fires it right back. I love giving him a hard time when we do pictures. Some of my favorite people right there. They are just too cute for words.
What a beautiful moment of a beautiful family. I cannot wait to meet baby Lucas this fall! Check out the full gallery here.
Look at her big smile! We are so blessed to have such a happy sweet girl. She loves to smile and will even let out a little baby giggle every now and then :D We survived the first three months. By survived I mean enjoyed adjusting to life with two littles. CJ wasn't an extremely fussy baby but he didn't like to sleep and he had some tummy issues so he had his moments. They say if your first baby is difficult the second one will be easy. That was true for my labors and is proving to be true with their personalities as well. Jaye loves to sleep and is really just a calm happy girl. I know some of you out there want to punch me. If I was me reading this when I had CJ I woulda punched me too! CJ didn't sleep through the night until he was 10 months old so for those of you with fussy babies who don't like to sleep I have felt your pain but it gets better! He's turning Two in two weeks (holy crap did I just say that out loud?!) and he sleeps through the night now and still naps during the day. There is hope!
She is such a 'solid' baby, and by 'solid' I mean she has rolls for days! She strong enough to sit up in her bumbo seat now and has been working on figuring out the jumparoo. She mostly just plays with the entertainment stations around it and doesn't really get that she can jump in it yet.
Newborn to 3 months... my tiny little peanut has turned into my chubby little munchkin. These next couple months are my favorite, when they begin to sit up on their own and just smile and hangout with you.
Did you know that fairies are born from the first laugh of a baby? You betcha they are... Learned that little gem from watching Tinkerbell with CJ. Yes he likes the Tinkerbell movie. Pretty much any animated movie he likes. Toy Story and Lion King are his all time favorites though. I can't wait to do his 2 year pictures and show ya'll what a little boy he is becoming.
I love her blue eyes and her eyelashes. Where did she get those eyelashes?! Not from me that's for sure! I am one jealous lady. Okay, I'll stop gushing about how beautiful and amazing my daughter is now :D Check out her gallery here.
The Princess and the Pea is back :) and two months old and growing like a weed. I'm happy to report she's starting to like to sleep a little more. She passed out after our photo shoot once again, we wore her out!
This is my favorite picture from our shoot. Her mom, Nicole, was talking to her and you can see in her eyes she is totally engaged and enamored with what mom is saying. Call me crazy but I feel like you can see the recognition in her eyes and the traces of a smile on her face. She was trying to decided whether or not she wanted to show off and smile for the camera.
You can see her features filling in. She's an adorable little peanut. All babies are peanuts to me right now. I don't know why I started saying peanut, but I started calling Jaye a peanut and now every baby I see is a peanut! I find the little nick names and such that we give babies funny. Peanut is an endearing name for a baby, but if you called an adult a peanut I'm not sure they would really feel the love ;) :D
Have I told you how obsessed I am with baby yawns? They are just sooo adorable! Ally really gets into hers. Curling up and stretching her arms, full body yawns <3 Check out her full gallery here. Enjoy!
